The Premise Beneath the Premise

The city will sell you a clean past. Forget the worst thing you ever survived. But you don’t get free by cutting pieces away – you get free by choosing what comes next.

In a drowning city that sells the promise of a clean past, KANE
erases memories for a living, until a woman with no past of her own walks through his door. SELENE is a living vault of talent lives, and the man who built her wants her wiped to nothing.

02

The Story

The city sells one promise above all others: you can leave your past behind. For a fee, you can forget the worst thing that ever happened to you, wear a new name, and walk out clean.

KANE makes his living on that promise and knows it is a lie. He is an extractor, a back-alley surgeon of memory who has seen what is left when you cut a person’s pain away: not freedom but absence, A hole where a life used to be. Then SELENE comes to his door, and she is that hole made flesh.
